Armenian Marketing Association

We hear the heartbeat of the market.

Armenian Marketing Association is a non-governmental organization founded in 2002 by a group of marketing professionals. During this period, the organization’s main activity was the implementation of qualitative-quantitative research and marketing consulting. The association’s range of services has expanded a lot during the last 15 years of successful work.

The precondition for the establishment of the Association was not only the development of marketing institutes and communications in Armenia but also the support of small and medium-sized businesses through marketing tools.

The sphere of marketing in Armenia was at an early stage of its development in 2002, and only 10-15% of organizations were using it. Those companies used outdated marketing methods. Although there was a massive increase in the number of companies that started to use marketing, a small number of them began to see its benefits. One of AMA’s primary tasks was to increase marketing relevance and its importance among business people.

The overall situation has improved a lot, and currently, there are many companies in the market that provide quality services in marketing. These companies offer research, consulting, branding, and advertising services.

The members of the Association are marketing specialists who work in different sectors of the economy. The Association’s experts have implemented many projects from 2002 to 2017, including the «Export Catalog of Armenia» (implemented since 2002), world-famous Philip Kotler training programs, research, and consulting projects for local and international organizations.

The association has already carried out 400 research and consulting programs and many other development programs.

The Association has been initiating and conducting various training programs since the day of its foundation. Those programs are designed to improve the professional theoretical and practical skills of the employees of Armenian organizations.
The Armenian Marketing Association became an official partner of ETCN within the partnership between the Netherlands Marketing Institute (NIMA) and the Netherlands Education and Training Center (ETCN). The European Marketing Confederation has accredited the Armenian Marketing Association to conduct training programs.

A professional training program, which included a trip to Austria, was announced in 2008 for Armenian entrepreneurs and managers. The business trip lasted six days, including visits to factories of well-known companies, business meetings with potential Austrian partners in several Austrian cities, including Vienna, Graz, and Salzburg.

Armenian Marketing Association is one of the few non-governmental organizations that operate successfully in marketing. During its activity, the Armenian Marketing Association has not only achieved significant height but also has made an enormous contribution to the improvement of marketing, and business culture in Armenia

The AMA’s mission includes the development of marketing institute and communication, an increase of marketing importance and necessity in the following ways:

1. Establishing effective relations between Armenian organizations involved in the marketing sector;

2. Providing highly professional and quality training programs for marketing specialists;

3. Developing and strengthening business relations between Armenian and foreign organizations/enterprises.

The development of the marketing institute in Armenia was relatively low at the time of the association’s establishment. The results of the research that was conducted to determine the level of marketing usage in Armenian organizations evidenced the fact mentioned above.

The low level of business involvement was due to the lack of information on the effectiveness of marketing communications. Although the number of marketing and consulting companies increased rapidly during recent years, the growth is only a quantitive.

The Armenian Marketing Association aims to expand the economic space of Armenia through marketing communications. The Association strives to supplement the lack of information, improve the quality of marketing services and research.
