International Technical Vocational Training and Education Conference in Armenia
“Skills for Business and Business for Skills” international technical vocational education and training (TVET) conference is organized within the cooperation between RA Ministry of Education and Science and “Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Science South Caucasus” (PSD TVET) programme implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) on behalf of the German government.
The conference will become a dynamic platform for national and international delegates comprised of representatives from the public and private sectors, industry, business, policymakers, development partners, NGOs, and youth representatives and other TVET stakeholders, supporting continuous development of TVET in Armenia.
The objectives of the conference are:
- to promote policy debate and dialogue on the key thematic areas;
- to strengthen collaborations among TVET partners;
- to allow stakeholders from the public and private sectors, as well as private initiatives and development partners;
- to showcase best practices, products, and innovations;
- to develop recommendations for TVET development.
“Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training South Caucasus” (PSD TVET) programme implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is operating in the three countries of the South Caucasus to improve the conditions for sustainable economic development and support green and inclusive growth particularly in rural regions. In Armenia, the programme supports the tourism, wine and IT/precision engineering sectors, involving the private sector in TVET (Dual TVET) in the mentioned sectors.
In cooperation with the RA Ministry of Education and Science, the programme has supported piloting of German Dual TVET system in already 7 colleges in Armenia – Vayots Dzor Regional State College, Tavush Regional State College, Shirak Regional State College, Kotayk Regional State College, Lori Regional State College, Yerevan State College of Humanities and Yerevan State College of Informatics – with involvement of the private sector partners.
